Dental Wipes

In addition to tooth brushing, dental wipes can be used by the pet owner for plaque and calculus control. When rubbed against the tooth/gingiva interface, these cloth paths impregnated with chlorhexidine or sodium hexametaphospate will help control plaque and calculus.

Sodium Hexametaphosphate

Sodium hexametaphosphate has been utilized as a sequestering agent, which forms soluble calcium complexes in saliva and dental plaque fluids. Sodium hexametaphosphate helps to prevent the calcification of dental plaque for calculus prevention and is used in many dental wipes and some dental diets.
